Young Rell

Derrill Scott, a Pittsburgh native lyricist was born on June 27, 1989 to Dawn Scott. After witnessing a Chris Cross concert, music seeped it's way into Young Rell, becoming his greatest passion. Growing up in Robinson Court, a neighborhood artist by the name of Joe Beast inspired him to keep dreaming, keep writing, and keep pursuing music.

Young as he was, freestylin' in St. Agnes School lunch room, rap battles with his neighborhood friends, and basketball became his hobbies. Through high school, he carried a compositon book filled with lyrics and poetry that never left his sight. Dreaming large with his brothers and neighborhood friends, he started a group called Star Statuz Gang.

For a better life, his uncle brought him to Hawaii where he started recording lyrics in his room. While passing out demos at Radford High School, Young Rell let his talent be known. In 2009, Young Rell was featured on a song called "Why" with a local artist named Jasmine. He is currently working on Scene-Selection, his upcoming mix tape. His two hit songs, Like A Star and Lights Camera Action both made radio play in Hawaii and in Dallas, TX. Scene Selection will be dropping early April and is intended to be a big hit. His main goal is to touch people with his music.

His fantasy is to make music a profession to open up a new door for himself and his loved ones. With big dreams to give back to the community and help the homeless, Young Rell realizes it is take off time.
